Biodiesel quality?
I have looked on journey to forever guidelines in making biodiesel and I’m on the process of testing its quality by putting water on it and shaking it vigorously. I found out I made a poor quality biodiesel since there were the mayonnaise stuff look a like between the water and the oil. if this is the case then does that mean it is useless and should be thrown away or not used? Does this mean it is a waste since it doesn’t pass the quality? Or is there a way to improve the poor quality tested biodiesel I made?
During the heating process, do I have to keep the temperature constant to 55 degree celsius while stirring or when the veg. oil reaches 55C I shut off the oven and put the sodium methoxide?

The emulsion you got where the oil and water meet is common in crude diesel as well as biodeisel. It s a problem that has to be overcome in diesel engines where there might be water in the mix. The engines have a separating filter to take the water off the bottom.
The mixture you have may separate in time.
Keep working, we need a soy or other veggie diesel.

Assuming that all of your reactions have worked properly and you’ve separated the glycerol from the biodiesel so that the only thing contaminating the biodiesel is water, you can remove the water by letting the mixture sit. Biodiesel is less dense than water and will float on top of the water. Then you can drain the water off. Typically it is also a good idea to further dry the biodiesel by letting it sit for several hours or a day with a fan blowing on it with as much surface area for the moving air to come in contact with.

It is not hard to homebrew clean, mayonnaise less, biodiesel.
Check out "Journey to Forever". URL is below.
Also check out the Biodiesel Wikipedia.
URL is below too.
They have many examples on how to clean up homebrew biodiesel.
And there are several short videos on YouTube.com.
