i can’t just inject the 100% pure glycerine into GC,can I?How do I prepare my standard?(To compare with glycerine in biodiesel).Do include your sources..thanks..

Unless you’re actually doing a GC/MS that should be fine. What you’re actually going to need to do isn’t preparing a standard it’s finding the range of oven temps to use. I looked that up for you and found a pretty good paper to link to in sources. GC conditions are on the 3rd page in table 2. You should actually take a look at it because it’s all about comparing bio-diesel components and seems like it would do alot to help any project you were working on.
Anyway, go ahead and inject the glycerine. Because it’s a pure sample you’ll only want to inject .2-.5 microL, but it should be fine. Your mixture sample you’ll want to do 1-2 microL depending on whether it’s in a solvent or not.

You need to prepare the standards in the same solvent as the extraction solvent you use on the biodiesel. Pure injections will make crap out of your column.
