What are the benefits of biofuel ?
Hi guys
i need a description of ethanol, methane and biodiesel including the chemical structure, enthalpy of combustion and manufacturing process and also an explanation of the immediate benefits that biofuels have brought to those who use them or those whose lives are clearly affected by them and explain any limitations that biofuels have brought or could not overcome.
thanks !

Biofuels – liquid fuels derived from plant materials – are entering the market, driven by factors such as oil price spikes and the need for increased energy security.
Bioethanol is an alcohol made by fermenting the sugar components of plant emissions and it is made mostly from sugar and starch crops. With advanced technology being developed, cellulose’s biomass, such as trees and grasses, are also used as feedstocks for ethanol production. Ethanol can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as a gasoline additive to increase octane and improve vehicle emissions. Bioethanol is widely used in Brazil (Ethanol fuel in Brazil, where 100% of the gas stations sell it and all gas contains 25% of bioethanol) and in the USA.
Biodiesel is made from vegetable oils, animal fats or recycled greases. Biodiesel can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as a diesel additive to reduce levels of particulates, carbon monoxide, and hydrocarbons from diesel-powered vehicles. Biodiesel is produced from oils or fats using transesterification and is the most common biofuel in Europe.
Most transportation fuels are liquids, because vehicles usually require high energy density, as occurs in liquids and solids. High power density can be provided most inexpensively by an internal combustion engine; these engines require clean burning fuels, in order to keep the engine clean and minimize air pollution.
The fuels that are easiest to burn cleanly are typically liquids and gases. Thus liquids (and gases that can be stored in liquid form) meet the requirements of being both portable and clean burning. Also, liquids and gases can be pumped, which means handling is easily mechanized, and thus less laborious.
